PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Shaqo Platform (Consortium), led by Iftiin Foundation via the Consortium Management
Unit and joined by Puntland Development and Research Centre (PDRC), YEEL and City
University, is a three-year program. Consortium members are based in Mogadishu, Hargeisa
and Garowe. This new intervention is the second phase of the 2020-2022 Nexus Skills and
Jobs pilot projects supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The goal of
this cross-regional program is to create realistic, sustainable livelihood opportunities for the
countless unemployed Somali youth (15-25 years old). The Programme’s main objective is to
contribute towards creating equal and economic opportunities for unemployed youth.
Specifically, the aim of the Consortium is to generate employment or link youth to decent
employment opportunities. Programme participants will receive direct support through
income generating activities, business and vocational skills training, psychosocial counselling
as well as support through access to financial services, such as seed funding, to promote
adequate livelihood opportunities.
TERMS OF REFERENCE:
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating high-quality visual content tailored to
client needs. This includes branding materials, promotional content, and other creative
designs that align with project goals and specifications.
Specific Tasks:
Develop innovative graphic designs for a variety of mediums (print, web, and digital).
Collaborate with clients and team members to conceptualize and execute design
projects.
Ensure brand guidelines are consistently applied across all designs.
Prepare and deliver final design files in required formats.
Stay updated on industry trends and integrate new design techniques.
Eligibility:
A degree or diploma in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field.
Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing creativity and
technical skills.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or
similar tools.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with branding principles and current design trends is an added advantage.
